Quick-footed counter-puncher Caroline Wozniacki relied on her consistency, court coverage, competitive spirit and strong two-handed backhand to complete her second consecutive season as year-end world No. 1. Wozniacki won 12 of her 18 titles in 2010-2011. Skeptics have dubbed the blonde Dane "the Golden Retriever" asserting her defensive style wins matches, but not majors. She is widely regarded as the best player yet to win a Grand Slam title. A finalist at the 2009 U.S. Open, Wozniacki had never made it past the fourth round of a major before her '09 run in New York.
